After three weeks of not seeing this yearling cow I ran into her on July 1. Her wounds have healed quite a bit and she seems to be recovering. She's skinny but was busy eating. She was glad to see me....that's odd, cause no moose has ever paid much attention to me when I was shooting pictures. But this one walked over and sniffed me and my bike thoroughly and then nuzzled me like she did by the lake in the previous photo. She's very sensitive to dogs on the bike trail, so I suspect she's been harassed by loose pets. Dog owners in Anchorage need to recognize that their well-fed pets are making it tough on moose.
