Smile Charlie

Charles Holbrook, one of the great skater-cyclists of the mid-80s, smiles for the camera. Charley was the rep for Veltec-Boyer and sold me a lot of good product which I passed on to the customer at my bike shop. This photo is from the criterium stage of the Tour of Marin, 1984. The setting is the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Marin Civic Center. The five stage race was promoted by mountain biker Chris Lang. The line-up includes some of the dominant riders in Northern California of that time. On the extreme left is Gavin Chilcott. In the green jersey is Roger Marquis, Dave Zanotti to Roger's left. I know I'll get help on the rest!
