This is a very curious moose. He's about 2 months old and lives in the Campbell Creek greenbelt with mom and his twin sister. He insisted on sniffing the bike and later walked up to me and sniffed me up and down. Normally when calves approach me I back away. This guy was really insistent. His mom was keeping an eye on us but was otherwise unconcerned. The moose in Anchorage are used to people and about as tame as cattle on a ranch. Maybe even more tame. But in the wild a moose can be really dangerous. One thing interesting about this calf's mother is she likes to travel by wading up the creek. When it's deep she swims. I don't see other moose doing this.
