Western Hospitality

Many years ago we were side by side
in the Hotel Nevada playing nickel slots
back when you had to actually put coins in it.
We each got a roll of nickels to try our luck.
We walked around and found 2 machines
that we liked that were next to each other.
So we sat down and start playing…
After playing awhile with coins in and
coins dropping out, we were probably even.
Then my wife’s machine hit a jackpot!
Bells and lights going it starts to drop $100 in nickels!
We are laughing and enjoying the moment!
I continued to feed my machine.
Yeah! I hit the same jackpot!
Now we are sitting there watching both
machines ringing bells and flashing lights
drop coins until they ran out.
Then the refill them and and they continue…
On that trip we paid for most it playing slots.
Now that really was Western Hospitality.
I would never expect it to happen again
because they changed the games
and how the games are played.
Now we rarely play them at all.
Entire casino systems run on
computer controlled number generators
to a formula to maximize odds to the house.
Takes the fun right out of it.
One of these times when your odds are
improved if you bought a lottery ticket.
