It’s a SH*TY Situation

After talking about building a sewer system for over
20 years the county is now building one in our little town.
The politics of this has been heinous.
I won’t go into deep and cheap details on this. Butt….
This all came about by an environmental group
from Seattle that somehow gained traction with
the State of Washington and environment departments who
passed laws that forced several tiny towns
across the the state to come to heal. One size fits all.
They used faulty studies and half truths to come to this decision.
Overall I don’t think persons who live in far away castles
should not tell the serfs of small rural small towns
that they need to put in city level services.
That would be sewer, sidewalks, water systems, and street lights,
Not to mention Bio Swales! We already live in a place were the rain water
runs off the street on to the grass and soaks into the ground.
I think that’s what Bio Swales do too, but we need them to be state approved.
They created an Urban Growth Area that is so gerrymandered
that it make a crooked Congressional district look reasonable.
They pass by new housing developments on one side of the line
yet an old farm house on a large plot inside the line is forced to hook up.
Small populations of a few hundred people are forced to pay for big city projects.
They held meetings but people stopped going to them because
the county didn’t want to put our concerns on the record.
They also indicated that it didn’t matter, it was going to happen anyway.
Someone in Seattle designed this system from satellite photos and they never
had anyone on the ground to see what was here or to talk to people about it.
The only time any county official walked around the neighborhood was
was to try to get reelected to a county commissioner seat. (He lost it.)
Oh yeah and the tax assessor comes by every two or three years.
Can’t leave out the censuses takers every decade.
“We’re from the government! We’re here to help!”
Only time we see anyone is so they can ask (tax) us for more money.
So if you think anybody gives a Sh*t!
Stink again, I mean Think again!

I understand. That kind of thing happens around here and I've
seen the huge signs from businesses "thanking" the government.
