All growing on our property. The mottled bark belongs to a lemon scented gum 3 of which
adorn our back yard close to the house and act as wind breaks. They are tough trees
and luckily for us only 1 of the 3 drops limbs. the main picture is one of my favourite
trees, its the one we see when we look out of our lounge window and was initially
planted by us when one of our neighbours had young trees to spare and gave them to us.
This is one of them, a grey box from my memory. The native tree of our area is the blue gum and we have plenty
of those too, they grow from seed and come up anywhere. I often have to pull them
up when they are tiny otherwise we would be a forest by now. the only problem with
gum trees is that they shed bark and leaves the whole year round and when we have a blow
leaves are everywhere. They keep Dick busy with his blow-vac.
