The neighbour of our 2nd daughter has one of these growing and
each year it produces these strangely shaped fruit. It is
also named "Buddha's Hand" and the botanical name is "Citrus medica var. sarcodactylis".
The fruit is quite fragrant and cultivated as an ornamental tree in gardens and containers on patios and terraces.
The fruit contains no pulp or juice and can be eaten as a zest or flavouring in desserts,
savory dishes and alcoholic beverages, and candied as a sweet. Info Wikipedia.
