Boobook Owl

At home

First time I've seen our little friendly owl for quite a few months... I went
to see why the small birds were carrying on and discovered why! He then
flew up into our golden elm, hence all the golden-green leaves, making it
quite difficult for me to photograph looking into the sun.

I'm pretty sure the owl is the "Boobook" or Ninox novaeseelandiae
has anyone any suggestions?

Well found, Yvonne. I wish one would pose for me like this.

It is a Boobook Von. How lucky you are to have one on your property and be able to get such a close capture.. V

Fierce? Indignant? Great expression. Sure looks like a Boobook to me.
