Rainbow lorikeet on a treebranch

Watching me and telling his small flock that there is fresh seed in the dish.
There is a "pecking order" on who eats first, working in pairs, and
the lorikeets are the boss over numerous larger birds who come to our
seed bowl.

The 'pecking order' you describe has operated at our place too, so much so that now I place seed in separate small dishes fairly close together but not able to be dominated by any particular bird. It's now more entertaining to watch as more birds come simultaneously but they continuously swap and change to see if another dish has a better offering!

He's so colourful I'm not surprised he rules the roost.
