Posing ... (October 2005)

Yes, that one is a posed shot ... Yes, I have taken thousands of pictures of her posed and candid.

Probably the only posed shot I really like of my daughter Arianne. This is exactly how I see her and how she is. Tender, loving, graceful, beautyful to the point that it almost hurts ... You want your kids to grow up and become little persons, eventually adults but at the same time, you want to be with them and want them to stay like this forever. That innocent look in her eyes, I would never want to let anyone take that away from her. Like all fathers with her daughter, she has a very special place in my heart, a place that no one will ever be able to fill, she is my blood, my soul, my love ... You want them healthy, playful, caring and happy. To be honnest, when I see a kid without one of those four attributes, I am very very sad even if I don't always show it up.

Technically, this shot is far from being perfect. It is a little soft, it is a little flat as far as lighting but I think it contributes in this case to a very powerful delicate image. The available light came from 2 sources, one facing her and one from the left side of the image. I made the mistake of taking this one handheld at 1/10 of a second, not very wise of me on a 12MP camera.

You call it flat, I call it atmospheric - the lighting is everything to this image - the gleam of her eyes is very special!

Merci de partager ces beaux commentaires. Une image vaut mille mots.mais les mots que tu viennes de prononcer sont unique.

The "Yves P" style "dans toute sa splendeur". A lovely expression with a balanced soft light. I like this one too.
Jim.
