1963 Ford galaxie 500 Fastback....Ford did very well in 1963 in NASCAR led by Fred Lorenzen's Holman & Moody no. 28 '63 Ford. Aerodynamics were becoming more important and the Fastback design of the Galaxie's roof gave them an edge over the Mopars that year although Richard Petty did have some success with his Plymouth. Junior Johnson drove a e 63 Chevy that was the lone serious threat for GM in 1963. GM had pulled their factory support, and Chrysler's Plymouths & Dodge Hemis gave Ford all they could handle the next year in 1964. But in 1963, Ford had great success with this 63 fastback design.
