1941 Buick . The fastback coupe was a very popular body style first introduced on 1941 GM cars. They continued in popularity even after the war, and were carried over on the first new GM post-war models. They begin to disappear soon after Buick, Cadillac, and Oldsmobile introduced a new body style, the hardtop convertible, in mid-1949.
