Hi Rick,
I decided to Google 1953 Chevrolet, just to see what came up. You can imagine my surprise when my car appeared among the Google images. I hope you don't mind, but I'd llke to correct a couple of things in your description. It's hard to tell from the angle of this photograph, but it is actually a 210 Club Coupe, not a sedan, and there were only23,961 made, making it one of the lower production Chevies for '53. thanks so much for the kind words. I just finished installing a new carburetor today and I'm happy to report that it is running great.

1953 Chevrolet 210 two-door sedan. 1953 was the first major restyling exercise of the very successful first post-war design from 1949. Chevys received fresh new grilles, side trim, and taillamps on the outside, and a new dash, and more color and upholstery choices on the inside. Chevy received all new series names. The entry level Chevy became the "150". The middle level series was the "210". The top of the line Chevy became the BelAir series, the name that had been previously designated only for Chevy's hardtop coupe. Prices ranged from $ 1,524, for a series 150 business coupe, to $ 2,273, for a four-door, eight passenger Townsman Station Wagon. Chevy's Blue Flame Six was given a higher compression ratio that increased the horsepower to 115 with Powerglide transmission. 1.3 million Chevys wer sold for model year 1953. Of course, at least from an historical prospective, the most important event at Chevy for 1953 was the introduction of the new Corvette sports car.
I love the little two-tone green 210 Chevy in Ken's photgraph. It looks just like it would have the day it was driven off the showroom floor, even down to the hubcaps. They made 247,455 of these two door sedans in 1953, and they cost $ 1,707 brand new. Most collectors go for the top of the line BelAir series. Its refreshing to see such love lavished on a 210 series car. I would like to congratulate the owner on how lovingly that owner has maintained this beautiful little Chevy in such wonderful condition!!!!
