Scanned 35 mm Images (Pentax Spotmatic)

35 mm Images Scanned onto Kodak PhotoCD
One of many amazing images taken during Gerry Marks' Light and Color on the Beach at Fire Island summer solstice artist's workshop at AMC Cabin at Atlantique, Fire Island, NY. The object of the workshop was to help us prepare our work by thinking about how natural phenomenon will affect the subject. In this case, we crawled out of our bunk beds at 4:30 AM to trek to a dock, where we watched the sun rise on the summer solstice (we followed the angle of the sun all day, and discussed how the phenomenon has impacted architectual and urban planning). After photographing the sunrise, we headed back toward our cabin, when I spotted this derelict dory on the beach, its half-rotted, translucent hull glowing bright as a burning ember...June 22, 2001. I was half-awake from the early time of day, so didn't keep the technical details...alas...the new digital cameras do all that work for you!:>) It was taken with one of two Pentax Super Takumar Multicoated Lenses, either the f 1.4 50 mm, the 28 mm.
