Three cheetas appeared in the plains of the Serengeti with a full stomach and still bloody face from a fresh kill and clearly still exhausted and bothered by the intense heat of the day. As soon as they saw our vehicles they walked straight toward us and laid in their shadow to rest. I am sure they were happier to see US then us to see them. They would have stay in our shadow for hours and several minutes later we had to drive away to keep looking for picture opportunities not since before trying a closeup with a zoom as you can see in the picture and also tried a wied angle to get the entire vehicle with the cheetas and my shadow. A friend took a picture of me and Boyd Norton that was with me in the jeep getting a picture of these cheetas from this position with a telephoto 600mm and a 400 mm, just for fun....it looked pretty funny. He emailed me the picture once but I have not been able to find it....shame!.
