Canon 1200 mm telephoto power ( 600 mm + x2 Teleconverter)

This picture of me was taken by my good friend David Ohlsen during our last trip to Tanzania. We where photographing cheetas in The Serengueti at that time and he was in another vehicle looking at me through his Canon 600mm lens, while at the same time I was focusing at him at the same time to take his picture. The picture I took of him at this moment can be seen at the gallery: The Photographer and friends

technically rick its not a 'zoom' lens at all it is a prime (fixed focal length) but it is an extremly long lens and some canon's cost only 100 bucks depending on what it is (lens/p&s camera/SlR camera/DSLR camera) so i dont know what you mean by that

i was told that you could not use a 2X with a large lens, especially 500 or over.
do you find your photo's are still high quality?

Now that is what i call a zoom lens. One day i too will have enough money to buy a canon.
