The Punta Cancun Lighthouse is 39 ft cylindrical tower with lantern and gallery,
painted with red and white horizontal bands.
An external stairway winds around the tower, but does not reach the ground.
This lighthouse has been built or altered since 2000;
the tower was formerly a simple cylinder with no lantern.
The original light may well have been destroyed by Hurricane Wilma,
which scored a direct hit on Cancún in October 2005.

Located at Punta Cancún at the northeast point of the resort area.
