Tim, the instrument is called "Rubaab", it's a traditional musical instrument of Pathans, and it sounds lovely! I have a whole song recorded in video/audio that I'll upload on youtube or goolgevideo some day, and share with you as well.

This is very interesting. I have never seen a musical instrument that looks like this. I am curious of the sound it creates.
