Connexions: Song of the Wakening

From far, She heard
the turning pages of the pilgrim songs
Gathered by electric winds
Cast together
as if leaves grown dry
withered by an august sun
Cast together,
summoned by a call sent forth
Tribute to the demigod of mountain home

From far, She conjured
images, mirages of her streets of stone
Enchantments borne upon ethereal winds
Cast afar upon the winds
Recollected, as of tears of joy
falling down her cheeks of burnished gold.
Recollected, missive to a one long lost.
Subtle sign that She might sing again.

From afar, he saw
the symbols of millennial prayers,
Cast in stone, caressed by clouds.
Revealed now,
as in an ancient dance
in robes of rosy silk and lace.
Revealed now,
inspired by the smile of a slender reed.
Whispers to awaken from a somber sleep.

From afar, She beckoned
asking two devotions to the muse
Cast in light, etched in distilled sands.
He sought; he found
the steel source of transport to the shore..
He sought; he found
Selene's illumination of a dusky sea.
An evocation answered to bring forth light.
