The ruins and the unrestored remains
scattered around the west wall of the temple.
Preah Khan was built in 1191 AD by Jayavarman VII as a monument to his rule.
It is located north of Angkor thom. It was an entire city of about 56 hectares.
It housed about 15,000 monks, teachers, and students. Subsidiary buildings
included a hospital, rest house, and rice granary.
