Well Hello!
If you leave a comment here (click the “Private comment” box) with an email address, or even snail mail, and I’ll send you some nice shots I took when you and the blond kid were ‘visiting’ from the boy’s home. I don’t think I really would have seen you again later to give you prints.

I had a lot of respect and admiration for Eric. That's why so many pix. We first saw him while we were eating breakfast at Lafayette. There's this little kid waking up on that little hill of grass between the Westminister Restrooms and the boardwalk, and not just for a couple of days, but weeks. Later didn't he live in Mar Vista? I seem to remember some link with Jesse Martinez. Finally he wound up in the Optomist Society Boy's home which he didn't seem to mind so much, except that he couldn't see his Venice friends. He went AWOL one weekend but when he arrived in town late Friday night he couldn't seem to connect with anyone so we let him and a friend (Brian?) crash in our backyard. When they woke up the next 'morning' and came up front to the house I made them a big breakfast, which atoned somewhat for all the eggs, potatos, and toast that LJ and I had consumed at that front table at Lafayeffes while he must have been damn hungry....[00109-this gallery....was taken on that weekend]

thanks DAVE !!
yep he sure did !!
We set our stuff up at the trash can on the westminster side of the oil field wall
he was surfing on that North Shore board, lol yes standing up !!
We had alot of fun growing up together. and these 2 pics bring me back to those times. for those that knew eric at that time it was hard to see that he was homeless. he had one of the best outlooks on life as a kid. He could smile and laugh it all off.
It's amazing how much he grew. at this size he was able to scale the walls inside the pavillion he would run up the wall like jackie chan, ya got to see it to believe it.
time for a funny
one july 5th day (same year as pic) on our hunt for unspent fireworks we were playing with firecrackers , well we wanted to see what an m80 sounded like inside one of those bbq pit cones at the pavillion . He was standing on the pit and his head was inside the cone (there is a ledge) so he lit it and it had a short fuse. it went off while he was still in the cone he comes out he has soot on his face and egg (poor birds nest) the look on his face was classic .he smiled and it was exactly like the pic on the left only with a semi-black face and egg on it.
