After lunch on an island, the group headed to another museum; this one dedicated to the carnaval held annually in Santiago. The museum was hot; the bar across the street had "refreshments" and music. Carmen & I decided that "refreshments" were in order and made our way the twenty feet across the street to Artex where we met and became friends with the partons and musicians there. I gave some of them Blues Music CDs from Phoenix's Rhythm Room and they provided a lot of fodder for my lens, as you will see. Even Tommy & Tina got into the act and collected names and addresses. Carmen got a dancing lesson from a boxer gent and I "obtained" a walking stick from a magician. Great Time.
After dinner, we were treated to a street party in a Santiago neighborhood. Despite early rain showers, the party was held outside and included a wonderful ballet routine by a beautiful young lady (Tiny Dancer). We mingled with the neighbors and practiced our Spanish while they did the same with thier English. This event brings home the thought that people are people no matter where they are and most want the same things -- well being for their family, security, prosperity, and love. Tiny Dancer's mother could not be more proud of her daughter.
