BSA Meteor Mk.3 & 4 Trigger Group (Cocked)

Polishing the trigger/sear contacting surfaces (one surface on each) with P1200 wet and dry (on a perfectly flat surface), and lubricating with a high Moly content paste (not low Moly content grease), can result in an acceptable trigger. Be especially careful not to alter the engagement angles. Adjust sear engagement with the adjustment screw (stock must be removed first) so that bumping the rifle cannot result in an accidental discharge.

And as always, be safe: people have been killed in the UK by air rifles

1. Always presume your weapon is loaded unless absolutely proven otherwise
2. Don’t point your weapon at anything you do not wish to destroy
3. Keep your finger out of the trigger guard until you are on target and ready to shoot
4. Make sure your pellet cannot stray after hitting your target, use a safe backstop
