Ceci is right -- this is lovely, Mo. What you are doing here is using electronic painting to abstract your subject and thereby making the original photograph more expressive as digital art than it was as a photo. It can also teach you to be more abstract in the first place, using light, shadow, vantage point, time, etc. to simply the original photo and create symbolic meaning that stimulates the imagination of the viewer.

I love what you've done here, Monique, with rough pastels...To me this is a more powerful picture than the photo would have been, with its vibrant colors and all the photo details removed. It's gotten pared down to essentials: sleeping man, bags of produce, turquoise background and brown walls, and there are no hundreds of little features distracting from the essence of the picture. Wonderful!
