Images of streets and lanes, people and mosques of the sprawling, dusty Islamic Quarter of old Cairo (Masr al-Qadima). Highlights include the Khan el Khalili bazaar, the Al Azhar mosque and university, the Citadel and the mosques and other heritage buildings at its foot, particularly along Sharia Saliba which runs through the Saiyida Zeinab quarter. Coptic Cairo and the Fustat district form another gallery, whilst the City of the Dead must await a return visit to the world's greatest Islamic city, Inshallah.
