A yoga group of 24 came together in Akumal to join in a celebration for the reverence of life, ancient and ageless, in the soft white sands that the turtles have so long been drawn to return to for nesting, laying their eggs and hope for their future. We too joined in that same spirit of nesting and nurturing in the intimate village resort of Akumal, tending to renewal and hope for the future as we practiced yoga, meditation, snorkeling and diving! We honored the work of CEA to protect and nurture the turtles and life in the Great Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, its coastland and Mayan culture. Imelda provided a wonderful evening of Mayan dining and dancing that truly helped to deepen the celebration. Now we're all back home in Indianapolis, IN, Louisville, KY and Austin, TX, but feeling a little like turtles scattered throughout the ocean who are drawn to return again and again for life's renewal in Akumal.
