NOTE: Jake passed away in August of 2014 after a losing battle with cancer. This was a fine young officer who retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after more than 20+ yrs of service ... RIP

The 2nd man in the picture is my dad, Roy L Baker of Ranger, WV. I think this picture was taken just before he was given a soldier's medal for saving a drowning girl. Please, if you have more pictures of him, post them and I'll post what my mom has given me. Thank you so much for your service and for this webpage.

I JUST FOUND THIS SITE!...I WAS WITH THE 188TH MP'S IN VUNG TAU...ROAD SHIP SECURITY TO SAIGON AND BACK...I PAINTED A SIGN FOR THE 188TH...1966...LEFT OUT OF FT. MEAD ON SHIP THINK IT WAS 'GORDAN' OR SOMETHING...SERVICE FROM '65'67...NAM IN '66...GREAT PICS...GOT OUT AS A SP-4...LIVE IN CLAYTON, OHIO...THANKS FOR THE PIX....BOB BERRY....

In past when I seen MP of US Army I was in admiration with their discipline.
When your picture the Vietnam war take an another dimension.More living and near of my knowhow of army,not a western movie!
