Leiobunum ventricosum

Groton, Ma.

I didn't think harvestmen preyed on large living insects. I watched this drama by my moth lights for a few minutes while the dragonfly's legs were kicking and the wings were flapping weakly as the harvestman kept a tight hold on it.

Wow, I had no idea either, but I have often wondered if they took large prey, and now I guess we know. Fantastic shot, though I have to say that as always, I feel sorry for the prey, even though they all have to eat! V
