The dogwood is, to Christians, an important plant, even if the "legend' is a figment of the imagination of a writer.
The brilliant white of the flowers, a spring fixture in my part of the world, portray purity, and the shape of the Cross. The central stamen is reminiscent of the Crown of Thorns. Objectively, a beautiful blessing for us all. I am in awe, every spring, during the Easter season here.
BUT, in autumn, even after the glory of the springtime is forgotten, the glory of the dogwood is truly at another peak...
I have shot many scenes of autumn. This year, for a number of reasons, I have chosen to portray my favorite season more intimately. I hope this is a blessing to those who view it.
