One of the reasons that I am so crazy about the Panasonic micro 4/3 cameras is that you can adapt old lenses on them. They have no mirror, so lenses with any registration work. I have had a Russian Jupiter 8 (50 f/2) lens for a long time. I recently got a Russian Jupiter 3 (50 f/1.5). It is a Russian copy of the classic German Sonnar design. This lens happens to still have beautiful glass in it. I sent it off to Brian Sweeney who worked his magic on it. I can now focus it closer than the original design, and Brian adjusted the lens for best focus wide open on a digital Leica body. I just took it out for a spin. I love the bright colors and unique bokeh that the lens renders.
