The great thing about touring the southwest is that the driving is interesting as well. From Yosemite we travelled back to Lee Vining and Mono Lake then across to Tonopah on highways 120 and 6. The highway crosses several north-south mountain ranges and scoots across a number of basins in dead straight lines. Here is a field of rabbit bush with the next range of mountains ahead. Near Tonopah we ran into a dust storm and we finally hunkered down for the night in the rest area at Saulsbury Wash.
