Here's the story. Each year on Long Island, the firemen in every town decorate their trucks just before Christmas, install Santa in high seat, and snake their way through every street with all lights ablaze and sirens blaring. The Saturday before Christmas we were reminiscing about how our late schnauzer mutt Jeannie stopped the parade one year by escaping as we opened the door, and running in front of the vehicles. That night, the parade happened again, and I raced to get three pictures. In the best picture, there was a mass of mist that I had not seen in real life. The next morning, I look again, and saw Jeannie staring at me in that mist. Probably just a coincidence but...
