At first I felt badly for this escaped bird. It was flying around with a large flocks of juncos and such. Then after contemplating the fact that it is free from man's cage, I was struck by the profound message, similar to Ben Franklin's, someone who sacrifices their freedom for safety, likely deserved neither. We American's could learn a lot from this bird. This bird will likely die, if it hasn't already from the cold weather we have been having, but at least it will die free, as a bird should be.
