Power

The technique for this shot: On the last day of 2013, drive south on Interstate 27 between Amarillo and Lubbock, Texas.
Set the cruise control on your car at the speed limit of 75 miles per hour.
Look for anything to break the monotony of the journey, like the only series of power lines and poles in over a hundred miles
of flat lands of frozen nothingness and cloudless sky, where everything is barren and no birds or animals live.
After sunset and in the twilight, with your right hand, pick up your camera, turn it on and set it to point and shoot mode.
Keep your left hand on your car’s steering wheel. After all, you are going 75 mph!
As you approach the power lines, compose your shot and snap once. Viola!

The look like giant Southwester kachina figures to me, walking the flat Texas landscape to claim the state as their own. "Which way is Austin?" they'd demand, keeping quiet about their plans to visit the longest serving governor in Texas and discuss certain issues with him.

I'm very impressed with your 75 mile an hour shots. Beautiful.

Glad you caught this fleeting break in monotony when you did! At least trying for such a beautiful geometric shot at sunset is something to look forward to on a long, boring drive! Amazing clarity at 75mph!

Works for me. Nice shot! Just don't try texting while shooting...
