If you look close you can see a brachiopod fossil imprint on the rock. They are common in this area of NY.

Bill, I like how you composed this. Nice, clear pattern and beautiful tones on the shell. I think the exposure and DOF enhance this too. I esp like how the ancient fossil details compliment the details of the present-day snail shell. Nice shot. MFC
