Thanks, Guys, Glad I stirred some imagination with this entry.
Glyn, the streaks at the back are from a wire mesh. These are a collection of Alpine plants in a small greenhouse in a botanical garden. I tried to drop out the screen with DOF control, but this was the best I could do and no other angle netted me the composition I wanted.

I'm tickled by this ... The title and picture are just ... right. The one at the front is detailed and focussed enough for me to fancy I can see 'the whites of his eyes' ... I think they're friendly but I'm still a bit disquietened.
OT: horizontal streaking at the back - is that real-world or artifacts of processing/web-conversion?
