Wanda "A New Year Begins" 01_14_08.jpg

We're in Southern Utah. We are kicking off a new year. The weather is much warmer than home with the temps climbing into the mid 50's. Just 3 hours drive north it is still snowing and the highs are about freezing.

Wanda has some goals this year; so, she is on her bike and riding hard. I put in an hour on the bike yesterday. Hopefully I'll get out and spend some time with my camera the next few days.

That shot's a great starter for the year. I was really missing my daily dose of your photos.

Colin, I did clone a few specks out of the sky. I do have a Giotto rocket blower I use often and every so often I give the sensor a scrub with Pecspads and Eclipse fluid to keep my sensors clean.

Bill & Wanda,
Happy New Year to you both!
I know it's not that relevant to this photo but can you please tell me how you keep dust off your sensor. At f22 I have noticed a number of dust spots on my 20D sensor recently and it's annoying the hell out of me.
I only ask because I have been following your great photography skills for a while now and I reckon if you don't know the answer to this then no-one does.
Thanks in advance.

Great action shot -- I love the color in the bike jersey contrasting with the orange-red of the hills.

Faster than a speeding bullet, able to make men weak in the knee's........It's Wanda.

Nice to see you guy's able escape the snow and get Wanda off her trainer and out tearing up the roads, as fast as she's moving, I can still see the smile on her face, OK, I can't really see it in this pic, but I know it's there.
