We returned to the Barn Owls burrow this evening hoping to see the owl chicks a little more active. They were still snoozing. It was dusk when we got there. Light was pretty low down in the burrow. I'm pretty happy with the photos. getting a sharp image shooting at 600 mm at 1/6 of second is just plain lucky.
I had the 2xII extender on the the 300f/2.8 all mounted to the 20D for the maximum in reach and detail. I was shooting with mirror lockup activated to keep shake to a minimum.

600mm?
Were you using a 2x extender on that lens?
Wildlife photography can be so rewarding, and often frustrating.
