Jake1.jpg

Jake is the sole survivor from a litter of 5 kittens. He and his litter mates were found abandoned in a ditch on May 15, 05. Three were already dead and the fourth one only lived for another day. Judging from their size at the time they were found, we figured they must have been less than a day old.

Jake weighed 1.8 ounces on May 16th. Now, at 3 1/2 weeks old, he weighs 10 ounces. He has had quite the rough start on his journey in life. When he was just 10 days old he was very sick and needed antibiotics. The Vet wasn't too optimistic about his chance of survival at that time. After just a day or two though, Jake was much better and sucking down his bottle as fast as he could be fed.

But his struggles are not over. Poor little Jake now suffers with constipation. The poor thing. But, hopefully, with tender loving care, he will continue to thrive.

His new mother Dana ( My friend and boss) has been valiant in her efforts to save this little guy's life. She has sacrificed sleep and run up Vet bills all out of the goodness of her heart.

Hopefully, Jake will continue to thrive and I'll have more pictures to share as he grows up!

So many pictures of Wanda, so beautiful and Bill an inspiration with pictures taken that say a thousand words and trigger even more numerous emotions with your imagination.

Jake touched me most. He is starting life as did my soulmate many years ago. So tiny, so brave and so innocent and so alone.

When there are so many complex problems in our lives and such large divisions of beauty and seething agony comes an inspiration of simplicity.

Life or Death.

Thanks you for assisting Jake. Look into his eyes and he will thank you back I am sure.
