Wandas Secret Flame Roof Alcove 06_27_09.jpg

This was just a quick snap shot taken as Wanda walked out of the pool and is really an outtake. The composition is a little off. There is a touch of motion blur. I really should have moved some and put the camera on a tripod. We need to go back sometime when we have some real time to really work this location.

I posted this shot because I just love the texture of the roof of this alcove. With the light reflected back in from the canyon wall facing this spot the edges of the sandstone glow. It really reminds me of flames.

Good to know there is always another day.

If anyone 'snuck up' on you I'm sure you'd hear the chins drop in awe.... *thunk* (that was a chin hitting the trail floor) ;)

What a wonderful image to come home from vacation too. Simply breathtaking. Plus, I'm going to keep looking at the picture until I can actually see the roof Bill is referring to.

Fantastic scenery. It must be thrilling for the two of you to share your talents with the world. On my hike last weekend I couldn't help but wonder how you would pose Wanda in the cascading stream bed that stretched out before me or how you would frame the two large birds cicling overhead. Keep up the good work.

Excellent Shot V!!!

I can imagine a host of reactions to finding this vision of loveliness while hiking a trail. Laughing doesn't make the top 100. Coming to a dead stop, staring and wondering how I got so lucky has to be top 2.

Bill this is an excellent series of a beautiful lady in a beautiful environment. First time I noticed the dimples of Venus.

Wanda, giggle, laugh? I seriously doubt anyone would laugh or giggle. Beautiful shot!

Bill,

What are you talking about? All I see is Wanda. Ohhhhhh, there's the textures you were talking about. I missed this.

dave,

I think the sandals just make the outfit, don't you? ( chuckling ) Poor Bill, I really didn't give him much to work with for this shoot. . . I was like, "ok, hurry up and take a shot, I'm done!" I was so worried that other hikers were going to come hiking up the trail and catch us. And I hated making the rest in our group have to wonder up the trail and wait for us so that we had our privacy. Believe it or not, I AM shy when it comes to posing nude outdoors where just anyone might stumble across us. Somehow a two dimensional image on a monitor for the world to see doesn't bother Me, but I don't want people giggling and laughing and pointing while standing there nude in the flesh! (grin)

The color and light are incredible, with or without Wanda, but her skin tones add a nice touch even with the sandels. It would be worth a trip back. You have such great stuff to shoot.-Dave
