Boarded Up

I've seeing this house a few miles north of town, for the last 20 years, going from a family living there, to being for sale, and finally abandoned.

A moody and haunting capture. The tones, values, and details are superb in this timeless image Dennis. VV++

Well documented! V It happens! This happened to a neighboring house! We ended up buying it out of an estate in self defense of our place, so we have one of these! We cleaned it up as much as we could. Not a fixer upper! Houses like this need everything replaced and you run into asbestos. That stops everything until it’s worth spending the money to overcome that one problem! That’s why this happens. Once anyone stops living in a house like this, the house dies.

Nice treatment. I'm always amazed to see property failures such as this. Money completely thrown away.

Makes your wonder if there was something wrong with it that it couldn't be sold. The way you photographed it is so appropriate and emphasizes the age and abandonment quite well. ~BV~

not so appealing in this state...too bad it didn't sell as it looks sturdy enough..
