National route Nº40 begins at Cabo Vírgenes, at the very south of Patagonia, at Santa Cruz province and it goes along more than 5100 km,
until reaching La Quiaca, at the very north of Jujuy province..
We say it is the spinal column as it goes almost parallel at Los Andes’s mountains.
It crosses 236 bridges, passes near 23 saline and lakes and goes through more than 200 cities, villages and hamlets.
