Bonnet Carre' Spillway is All Dry - June 11, 2008

The locks were opened on April 11 to relieve the swollen River as it headed towards New Orleans.
Two months later, glowing in the sunset, it is dry again.
The road needs to be repaired before normal traffic can resume. Hopefully, it is a priority with the powers that be as this road was bumper to bumper during the evacuation of the New Orleans metro area before Hurricane Katrina struck.

ummm. not a chance that these locks will be open again anytime soon.. probably not for a few years.. at earliest next April... Those little streams are having NO effect at all on the Mississippi river levels.
