Even though the needles are all back in place the River water continues to seep through the locks. The River is still high and may get higher in June.
The water is full of shrimp, fish and forming wonderful ponds down the line for crawfish. Fishermen are filling their ice chests and the egrets and herons are filling their bellies. This is a wonderful time for this abundance of fish and shrimp for the egrets and herons as they are very busy feeding their young in the rookeries.
Notice the huge log that floated out of the River and is jammed in the locks. I do hope it is cypress. Some craftsman will have a wonderful piece of wood to work with when the water subsides.
