The first locks opened in the structure shows a boat in the River as the water rushes from the River into the Spillway.

This is a super cool picture. This crane looks like it is super helpful in building this. They do all the heavy lifting that you can't do and without cranes we would not be able to do a lot of construction. But luckily we do and they help build a lot of stuff now days.http://acjonestrucking.com/

The boat in this picture is most likely one of the Corps of Engineers tugboats or pushboats as we call them. They all have the same colors and are easy to spot with their beige paint with red trim and beside I don't think anyone else would get that close with the current like it is.

Thanks for putting these online. I'm new to the area and didn't even know about the spillway until they talked of opening it. I noticed the river getting pretty high in New Orleans and hope this works keeping us dry :)
