Oaks of Roosevelt Mall

New Orleans City Park

United States President Franklin Delano Roosevelt dedicated this mall lined with oaks in the late 1930's.
Because of three weeks of standing salt water following the hurricane it was questioned if the oaks would survive. I had no doubts, however. Today, they are putting out their second flush of leaves since August 2005.
Below is a photo of the Mall three weeks after the hurricane.

I remember being a child and going here to see Roy Rogers and Trigger.

I love green. One reason I shoot landscapes. We are starting to see snipets of green now. Monte
