Glorious Day

It came out of the camera just like this. I wonder if the yellow and green combined with the light caused the little pond to be so blue. There is a town in Louisiana near the Gulf of Mexico named for the yellow flowers--Golden Meadow, Louisiana.
There is a story to this little pond. When I was very small, small enough to ride in a goat cart, my father found a baby goat in this spot. Hunters had killed its mother. He brought it home and it was fed milk from a soda pop bottle with a nipple on it. When "Nanny" grew big enough my father made a little cart, a two wheeled sulky, for her to pull. I rode around the yard in it for short periods of time.. Nannie lived to be about 10 years old. During that time she ate several linens and sheets off my mother's clothesline.

Beautiful shot. Hope things get back to normal soon. Lucky you have nice weather where you can be outside--you wouldn't want to be outside here for too long... ;)

A lovely history of your childhood, Coleen. The meadow and pond are beautiful, and the pond reflects the blue of the sky overhead. Al

You can stay home when it gets too hot. In the meantime take your camera & take lots of these beauties. My Uncles used to have goats & cart races when they were children so I was told. They even wore jockey silks :>)

Stunning image with vibrant color. It is so nice to have objects or places trigger our memory of childhood pleasures. It sounds as if you were quite fond of Nannie.
