Second Steamboat House

This house is right against the Mississippi River levee. It has a widow's walk on top where wives would keep watch for the boats that their husbands were on. If the boat did not return the wife was a widow and the name came about that way.
This house suffered six feet of water. The bottom floor is of solid tile so the cleanup was not too difficult. However, no one is living in the neighborhood yet, known as the Holy Cross District.
No electricity, gas or water pressure.
