This is composed very well Coleen. I really enjoy the light here and the excitement of the boats coming in. I can hear the gulls cry. Vote.

They say photography is writing with light.
This piece is extremely well-written.

Another nice sight, but I think I prefer your other shot for closer detail.

I can hear a Forest Gump voice coming on.
I like your other (Katrina shrimp boat), too. The light really is spectacular, and this tells the story of coming home. Also think Ed's suggestion was a good one.
So, now that the shrimps are in, I guess maybe I'll come for a visit. UMMMMMMMMMM!

Very nice shot, I have noticed the shrimpers in the lake lately and I thought the season was closed. Must be something out there.

Beautiful light on this age old Louisiana tradition Coleen.

I always like pictures of working boats. To make a living, they must go out every day, even days that are too rough for the scavengers. Nice tribute.

I used to own a skiff like these, like my father, and my father's father and etc,. My family have been known through out the years as shrimpers. But I have killed the tradition,, and let me be the first to tell you I'm not sorry I did. Shrimping is a hard job and a tough life to handle, I've done it for sure, and I have the up most respect for these guys.
Louisiana shrimp all the way! Nice shot Coleen, and I like the Pelicans in flight, n ice touch

I like this picture Coleen but I think you have another interesting picture if you do a tight crop on the lead boat including that bird flying in front of it. The light reflecting in the water is very nice. You could even show a portion of the second boatcropping it just left of the man standing at the bow. The angled lines on the side of his bow above the water line are nice as well
