A view through the open bays of the Spillway to industry across the River

The water from the flooding Mississippi pours into the Bonnet Carre' Spillway as needles are removed to allow water in. Notice the difference in height of the River and the Spillway. Much too early in the year for this much water.

Judging by the person way on the left, I'd guess the river is at least 6 feet higher than the spillway. That's a lot of water gushing through there with a tremendous force.

Great capture and now I can see the workers with their safety lines and the worker in the cart keeping an eye on them and controlling the winch they are attached to. Nice POV!

Great view of the rushing water. Gives us a good sense of the danger.

Excellent photo documenting a sense of being there & experiencing this massive flow of the river into the spillway... Hope this action relieves this perilous situation... V!

Excellent image Coleen. Hope you get a reprive from the rising water.
